WHY THE EUCALYPTUS LOGO?
The Eucalyptus tree from Australia was widely planted by settlers to add value to the California landscape. Eucalyptus grows very fast, therefore providing shade and fuel for the settlers.
The eucalyptus tree has become a dominant and iconic part of the California landscape, not unlike the native Redwoods.
At Stanford University, Eucalyptus trees were planted to provide shade and a fuel source, but most importantly, they were planted to provide shade in the arboretum to protect & nurture nursery trees.
Eucalyptus is not only revered for its wood and fast-growth, but also for it's oil which is widely used for medicinal and aromatic purposes.
For these reasons we thought the mighty Eucalyptus tree greatly represents our efforts.
